Having got a couple of tickets to a concert near Oxford I decided to go the long way round on the bike. I decided to do a mini tour of Wales. I actually ran my TBird in on a trip a few years back and always said I should get back there. So we set off on a great ride through the Peak Distict and into north Wales. Got a bit of Snowdonia in and managed (at the last minute) to get a place to stay. The owner of a pub gave us the use of a small holiday cottage for 40 quid for the night - overlooking an amazing mountain view - and right next door to a great pub with good food.

.....and good beer..

..... and some great roads, great people and stunning scenery. The clouds looked a bit angry but it was warm and dry. Will be going back.

We carried on down the coast and through the Brecon Beacons, a bit of Herefordshire and through Gloucestershire (always nice) and on to our hotel in Woodstock (near Oxford) where we were booked to see Ludovico Einaudi play his stunning tunes on the ivories...... and what a venue. Blenheim Palace is amazing to say the least - but to have a gig there is incredible. So needless to say that we and the other 10998 people had a cracking time.

Best venue ever for a concert ....

Einaudi at his best .... and I managed to get the best seats right at the front.

All in all a very pleasant weekend and a very enjoyable 800 miles.
